I have kept a sense of the general plot and have decided to do some sort of hybrid of plotting and pantsing for these novels. While I will continue to keep notes as I go along and have a general idea of where I want to go, I’ll leave the majority of it up to my mind to conjure along the way.
I’ve started to handwrite the novel and while it probably won’t stay that way throughout the whole novel I find that I can work a lot faster that way right now. I recently spent a girls night out and had my nails done. While it hasn’t prevented me from typing completely it has surely slowed me down to some degree.
Not to mention I find handwriting to be almost freeing in the aspect that right now there is no real copy of my novel that others could stumble across, besides my family and my hubby man would understand how rough a first draft would be.
I know I still need to tweak the character voices so they are more pronounced for each, this draft will be laying down the frame of the novel and helping me to realize the full potential as well as where I need to strengthen the story. I really can’t wait for all of this to come together.
Also in a few short days, Malevolent Mind will release to the world. I am excited for others to read it and hope some will find as much enjoyment in it as I had writing it.
Now, I need to get back to the grandbaby and working on this novel. Remember to L.O.L. (Live it, Own it, Love it) or it isn’t worth doing.
