Today is the first day of Camp Nano. I have to admit that I’m struggling to get focused. I’ve grown accustomed to working around an almost two-year-old’s demands for my attention and now that he’s not here for the day it’s too quiet. While I’ve always suffered from procrastination issues it’s feeling bad today. Part of it, I’m sure, is the fact that there is always a great fear when starting a new project. A fear that you’re going to put all this effort into the piece and nothing is going to happen with it, or that you’ll hit that fifteen thousand word count and want to trash the whole project.
I know I really do need to dig in and get my work done. However, as a nice thing to do in the morning, the Hubby Man and I took off to the farmer’s market for some time together. We bought a nice homemade cherry jam and a Mountain Dew on that he’s been eyeballing for awhile. There was also a seasoning place that makes their own combinations and we picked up an Italian one that is amazing. We want to go back and get the Strong Arm one. I forget what ARM stands for. It’s a meat rub and marinade. I remember that much. Haha.
He even took me out for lunch afterward. We discovered this amazing Philly Cheesesteak place here in Ogden. I’ve had some decent Philly’s before, but this one…this one was so delicious. I know that we will be returning to Chef D’s Philly’s.
Now, I really need to settle into Camp Nano and get my work done for the day. I can’t help but feel a little apprehensive as I am not plotted far enough into it to feel comfortable, but we shall see. Still, I have the first seven chapters ready to go. All I have to do is sit down and write them out.
Here is hoping all of you are having a great weekend. Remember to L.O.L. (Live it, Own it, Love it) or it isn’t worth doing.
