I managed to finish another novel. It is my second of the year and I have to say that I’m quite happy with myself and my reading journey. While this one took me longer than I originally anticipated I did get it finished. It was by no fault the book’s fault that it took me so long, but merely that I got distracted by other projects and pushed other books to read in front of it. I won’t bluff, though, and say the novel held my entire attention the whole time I was reading. I often found my mind wandering while sitting down to read, though if you’ve ever read a novel by don Miguel Ruiz Jr or his father you’ll know that is the point in them. They guide you through various things to help you understand the lesson of that chapter.
I did learn a lot on my Toltec journey from reading Mastery of Self and to intend to read the next one on my list as soon as I finish Ready Player One. I’ve always been one to read a variety of novels, but never quite so rounded. For that, I’m proud of myself for stretching my wings in various other genres.
While Mastery of Self was a great novel it wasn’t my favorite in the Toltec Journey ones. That one is The Four Agreements. That particular novel is written by the father of the duo and I found not only enlightening but entertaining. I’m unsure if this is due to reading it with the hubby man or not. Still, I refer back to it often. Though, Mastery of Self won’t be discounted in my rereads either.
Ready Player One is next on the agenda to finish. This novel is dear to me as it is my son’s favorite novel. He talks about it often and purchased it for me for Christmas. I’m eager to finish this novel so that we can talk about it. The hubby man wasn’t as fond of it as our son so I’m curious to see where I will fall in the review half of it.
So, that being said. I will be working on reading Ready Player One over the rest of this week and should be able to review it the following Wednesday. As today is Tuesday of the previous week that gives me plenty of time to get it finished in. I hope.
Until then, remember to L.O.L. (Live it, Own it, Love it) or it isn’t worth doing.
