All The Things That Didn’t Get Done

Hello, Readers!

Wow, I came out of last week looking like those Facebook memes of the chicken with barely any feathers or one of those Chinese Crested dogs. It was a rough one all around. My youngest daughter keeps battled one heck of a cold. We’ve had bouts of fever on and off and a cough that just won’t quit. After a doctor’s visit they threw up their hands going, maybe it is a sinus infection. So, needless to say, she is on lovely medication to try to get rid of that now. Oh, the fun there.

My oldest daughter has caught a cold as well. Which means I’ve been pumping her full of meds and tending to the oldest grandson as the youngest was out visiting his father. That part I didn’t mind, other than I wasn’t productive, I rather enjoyed the time with him. He always makes me laugh and the pair of us cuddle a lot. Often times if you can’t find him, search for me, he’s usually with me. While she still isn’t feeling better today, I had to return to work, so she’ll have to tend the kiddos today.

As for the hubby man, he returned to a normal schedule this week. Thank the heavens. I love having him here, but I am so unproductive when he is. Even though we set up a desk for me in the bedroom, when he is home, I find every excuse possible to come out and talk to him. It seriously was a bad week for my production. Besides just his swing shift, he was also on call. That meant early, early morning phone calls for him to fix things or whenever they needed him. After being called several times a night for the first two nights…I was scared I’d never get sleep with his phone going off like that. Him I let sleep until he was ready to get up after all those calls, but I got myself up fairly early still during the day trying to be productive.

I did get a fair amount of editing done on my Dragon Bond (working title) Novel, which felt amazing. It was surprisingly not the cease pool of word vomit I had imagined it to be after finishing it. Taking several months away from it meant I’m really coming back to it with fresh eyes now. So, I was quite impressed with the quality of work inside the book. While it still needs huge edits and holes filled, it won’t get a complete rewrite like some of my other novels have.

Reading, though, didn’t happen. That is unless you count beta reading a co-author’s short story for the third time to help her clean it up. Also the reading I’m doing while editing this novel. If that counts, then I got a fair amount done, but nothing I can leave a review about yet.

I’ve also started the keto ‘healthy living’. People say call it healthy living instead of diet, that way your body doesn’t feel so deprived. I say ppssshhh, late at night when I want a piece of chocolate, telling myself I’m living healthy doesn’t take away the craving for that chocolate. So, it is a diet! Haha.

In all seriousness, though, eating healthier meals, not indulging in all that sugar and carbs…I really do feel more energized, and healthier. I’ve already begun losing all the water weight, so that helps get past the whole first two week flop on any new ‘healthy living’. I won’t lie and say I didn’t have a few days that were great, until the wee hours of the morning and then they saw an ice cream sandwich or two. Those days, those were bad ones for me filled with loads of negative self-talk. I had to work a little harder to be nicer to myself and get back on track the next day. By the end of the week, by George, I had it. I have been eating clean for most of that week and onto this one.

So, there is my week in a nutshell. It was a rough and hard week, filled with a lot of frustrating moments for me, but a lot of joy as well. This week, I’m starting behind, but I will own this week.

Until next time, remember to L.O.L. (Live it, Own it, Love it) or it isn’t worth doing.
