The Final Day of Mindfulness #3dayquotechallenge

Hello, Readers! Welcome back to the final day. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for the nomination to do this challenge. Please, if you haven’t, go and check out The Bee Writes.

As our journey comes to an end on our 3-day quote challenge I hope that not only have my quotes helped some of you, but my explanation of why they are my favorites help you to see who I am as a person better.

Here is my final quote:

It took me awhile to pick a final quote for the challenge. I’ll admit I went through several of them. If I couldn’t effortlessly write an entire blog about what the quote meant to me then it got discarded. That way I was sure to give you a quote that had true meaning for me.

Now, this quote is a huge one for me. I’m notorious for getting in my own way, creating my own limitations, and just generally being my own problem.

I’m the queen of excuses. I have a laundry list of reasons why I can’t, haven’t or won’t do things. They aren’t good. They are only excuses. Some sort of pathetic salve I give myself when things become hard or when I just don’t want to do it for one reason or another. It’s horrible. Seriously, one of my worst attributes. Which is one of the walls I put around myself. The whole, well I can’t do this because my life is stressful right now. Or I will do this when things calm down. I’m also really great at ‘feeling sick’ as a reason for not getting work done as well.

I’m working hard at removing that boundary out of my life. It’s taking a lot of work, though admittedly.

Another boundary I put on myself is oh I can’t do that because I’m not as good as so and so. Or until I’m like so and so, I can’t send my work into a big publisher. I haven’t even been rejected yet, more so, I haven’t even sent in a query and I’ve already thrown a barricade in my own way.

I can go through more reasons on how I’ve put up my own walls, but in reality, these are things I’m working on tearing down.

No more excuses.

No more stopping myself.

No more WALLS!

  1. Wow, thank you! I will do my best to find meaningful quotes.
    It’s like we are psychically linked, ( and maybe psychopathically – LOL) Our journeys always seem to parallel each other!

    1. Haha, yeah probably both of those. It is strange how our journeys are so parallel and yet it isn’t. It’s a blessing. We can help each other. Pick each other up, dust us off and keep going. It is fantastic! And I am so grateful to have you in my life.
