Halloween Cake Begins

Hello, Readers! As some of you may know this is the time of year when I put together a cake for the hubby man’s Halloween work party. This years theme: Beetlejuice.

I believe the hubby man and I have come up with a pretty good cake for the celebration. While it won’t be as elaborate as mine in the past it will have to be sufficient as I’ve come down sick right before it.

Even now, as I write this, I have taken a dose of Nyquil and am fighting it just to finish this brief post.

Anyway, we aren’t doing accompanying treats to go along with the cake simply because the Hubby man isn’t feeling the theme and neither of us have the energy to give it our all this year.

While that sound bad, let me explain, we are still looking at a three tier monstrosity. No carving, though. We have chosen a delicious Pumpkin spice cake that will be dense enough to hold a structure, but not so dense as not to be delicious.

To cover the outside I will be using a cream cheese buttercream as I think it will taste better with the pumpkin cake and not be over sweet, along with a layer of mini chocolate chips between the layers of cake.

I will go through and try to remember pictures and such to share with you as we go. As the hubby man will be doing most of the assembly due to this terrible cold, I will be there supervising and instructing him on what needs to get done where.

Tomorrow begins the real push to have the cake finished and staying cool in the fridge overnight before it travels the day after. Until then, Readers, remember to L.O.L. (Live it, Own it, Love it) Or it isn’t worth doing.
