Over the Hump

Hello, Readers!

This should be a fairly quick blog post. Yesterday after a day of wanting to not do anything and managing to not only get an additional two thousand words written, but I found a spot where a bit I’d previously written fit right into, I added it all back in

That brings my total for this novel up to over seventeen thousand words. Not only does that bring me into chapters now that I haven’t previously written and am going back over, but it also takes me far enough into the story now that I feel the mental block gone now.

This means the rest of the novel should come fairly easily at this point. I’m not sure why it is that way with me as most people find the beginning so easy. Mine is always the beginning I struggle with and the middle to the end that I love writing. It’s strange, really, but it is my process all the same.

I’m learning to embrace my writing process as well.

While I’m way ahead on NaNo due to the melding of the two piece now, I won’t consider it a win for me unless I finish this novel during this month. As it is going to be around ninety thousand words I still have a great deal to go. My aim now is to be able to push me back up to that five thousand or more each day.

My tentative goal is to finish the novel before Thanksgiving and the hubby man’s birthday so I can enjoy the holidays with less stress. It is going to be a definite push and a lot of work but I’m still confident that I can accomplish it. So, here is to writing my behind off.

Until next time, remember to L.O.L. (Live it, Own it, Love it) or it isn’t worth doing.
