Busiest Time of the Year

Hello, Readers!

We have hit one of my busiest times of the year. Shoot, it is most people’s busiest times of the year. Between shopping, decorating, baking and all the other stuff that comes with the holidays most people find themselves bogged down in tasks to complete.

I enjoy being busy and look forward to it every year. Sure, I stress from time to time, but I still love it. Our family gets together before Christmas for a party to exchange gifts for names that we’ve drawn. We also do what we call sisters’ baking, where all the girls get together and bake things from cookies to Christmas bark to fudges. There is always laughter to be had when it comes to getting all of us crazy girls together like that.

Upon the Christmas fun, I also have my two oldest children’s birthdays to sort out as well. As they are too old for birthday parties, I usually try to do a cake for them and either a special dinner I make or take them out for one. It depends on our schedules around their birthdays. As they are both five days apart on the calendar that means I’ve often combined their parties, much to their upset. Still, it was around the holidays and I did the best I could.

I still need to figure out what to do for them this year. My daughter wants a German Chocolate cake for her birthday so I may be whipping up one of those next week. Which I don’t mind, I rather enjoy baking.

All in all there are a lot of fun things planned and a book to be finished. I’m still working on freeing myself up mentally to write without reservations. That might take a while as I’ve boxed myself in a bit and demanded I write a way that I didn’t always enjoy, so it takes some time to reverse that. However, I know I will get there.

Do any of you have Christmas plans or traditions that you do every year?

Until next time, remember to L.O.L. (Live it, Own it, Love it) or it isn’t worth doing.

  1. Oh man two Birthdays and Christmas? That is busy. We do have two Grandsons with near Christmas birthdays. One is on Christmas Eve. I’m not sure what we are doing this year. Hubby just got home for us to talk about it.
