Slept Through My Alarms

Hello, Readers!

Do you personally know the frustration of sleeping through your alarms? I had a lot I needed to get done this morning before the parade. By sleeping in I really missed that early morning opportunity to accomplish things mostly uninterrupted.

That was my bad.

Getting back into the swing of things will happen but it may take a day, especially when I’m not staying up until after midnight to welcome in the new year. Haha.

For me, it was a quiet night at home. We did 5D painting or Diamond Dotz for those that know what it is. We watched Kitchen Nightmare and took bets on how soon the restaurant closed after Gordon Ramsey had been there. We’ve long since lost hope that any survive right now. There was some wine to be had and plenty of laughter.

Today, we will have our feast of ham, cornbread, sauerkraut, and black eyed peas for dinner. It is said to bring good fortune and money in the new year. So, we shall enjoy our meal later today.

I need to get the kitchen scrubbed down so I can cook without a mess. I’d meant to get it done yesterday, but the hubby man scrubbed down the entire house and steam cleaned the carpets while I was working so I couldn’t get into the kitchen.

Today, we are going to watch the Rose Bowl Parade. His old high school, Lincoln-Way from Illinois is marching and I’d love to see it. He is so proud of his school.

Even if it sets me a little further behind to me that is more important. I can catch up on my work later.

I started writing book 3 of the Treaty of Dragons series yesterday. I’m loving the journey so far, even if I’m not that far into it. Today will see me even further. Book 1 is with my editor and her remarks have truly made my heart soar. Hearing that you found your stride from someone that isn’t family is truly reassuring. Especially, as it confirmed what I already felt in my heart.

I love my fantasy writing and I’m incredibly proud of it. I can’t wait to share it with all of you.

So, tell me what your plans are for today and in the New Year? Do you even treat it as anything other than another day? Not everyone does, and that is okay too.

Until next time, remember to L.O.L. (Live it, Own it, Love it) or it isn’t worth doing.
