I took time to step away from the series and toy with a different story idea. There was a very real chance that the story simply wasn’t ever going to be finished and it wasn’t going to be published. It was a chance to keep my creative mind working like a well-oiled machine.
I’ll admit, there were several times that it fell right off the tracks. I will probably still continue to fuss with it from time to time, but right now I need to put my focus back on work. I’ve been sent an anthology interest form, which I filled out and returned.
It is another charity anthology, but this time instead of flash fiction it is short stories. Not only that, but it is also set under a different theme. Instead of using a holiday and songs. I am curious to see what others come up with for this. I know I’ve been talking with my soul sista, cartographer, and anthology leader about her ideas. Seriously, I can’t wait to read some of these ideas she’s come up with. It definitely reminds me that it is time to get back to work for me.
I’ve taken far too long off this time. I have a book three to get written plus this short story. It is also time to send book two out to the editor as well. After all the support that readers have given me with book one, I don’t want to keep them waiting too long for the next installment. So, it’ll probably release later in spring.
Of course, all of this is dependant on when we move. We are currently in the search for a new place. So far we’ve taken an interest in a few places, but nothing more than casual looking and very few phone calls. It has definitely been coming up empty. I know that then when the times comes, things will fall into place. I have faith.
I know for a fact that it is time to start moving once more. I feel it. When sitting around and ‘relaxing’ feels less like that and more stress, it has to be time to get a move on once more.
So, how I have a to-do list written of things that need my attention. It is time to buckle up and get back to work. There are adventures to go on, friends to meet, enemies to defeat and maybe a little romance along the way.
Until next time, remember to L.O.L. (Live it, Own it, Love it) or it isn’t worth doing.
