The Aim Of This Week

Hello, Readers!

This week has been one of those where time sort of disappears on me faster than I know what happened to it. I know part of it is Facebook. Goodness, I swear I scroll on that thing several times a day. I’ve even gone so far as to delete the app off my phone to try to curb the instant habit of any time there is downtime of getting on there and losing hours.

Has it helped?

Absolutely not, my phone has internet so I just go to Facebook.com and continue my terrible habits.

I’ve even gone so far as to think about deleting my accounts altogether, but honestly, that is where all my work connection and long distance family is, so there I remain. So, it keeps me within this awkward cycle and my production level down low.

The next step to getting control on my scrolling will be to shut it off and shove it into a drawer. One that is outside of the room of course. However, I’m one that when I do that I worry that one of my kids or my husband will have an emergency and need to get a hold of me.

I think to combat that one I will use the do not disturb. That might actually work, that way if it is in the drawer using the out of sight out of mind technique I won’t be tempted to keep scrolling on it, but the only people that can get through on that would be my kids and hubby, so that might help ease my mind a bit.

Facebook is definitely my productivity downfall, that is for sure. It consumes most of my day. While that still leaves my laptop exposed to Facebook I actually don’t bother to get on it there. For some reason, the fact it is my laptop is enough to stop me from getting on to scroll. I’ll get on there to post things to my author page but that is about it.

So, now that I can see my issue once more, it is time to get it all under control again. Tell me, do any of you have things that suck up your time like Facebook does for me? How do you manage to keep it under control?

  1. Pinterest is my downfall. I managed FB by I only check notifications first thing in the mou while having coffee. I set a timer for how long I give myself and when it goes off I turn off fb. I have messenger though on but mostnof the time it is on mute. I check it on my breaks to see if I have messages and family members text me if they need me. Pinterestbi haven’t managed yet lol
