I find that as my to do list outside of writing is hitting completion for the holiday season that I have been more and more eager to sit down and write. Not only that, but my sleep and awake schedule has begun to shift as well. I’m sure part of this is due to my daughter’s work schedule and my husband’s.
By the time she gets off work and I’m done babysitting it is usually close to 2 in the morning. At that point, I’m crawling into bed in time for the hubby man’s alarm to go off at 3:30. I don’t always hear it go off, but most of the time I do. Sometimes at that point, I simply get up for a few hours to accomplish a few things before laying back down. I’m one that once my sleep is interrupted it can take me a while to drift back to sleep.
So, given that, it could be a distinct possibility that my sleep schedule is changing due to the way my nights and early mornings go. The thing is, night time is also the quietest time in the house. So, it is easier for me to get my writing done then. I don’t get interrupted as much.
As it sits right now, I spend a good portion of my day sleeping and I’m awake during the night hours. It won’t be so bad as long as the boys stay on their current sleeping schedule, so I can get them to bed when they should be, and start writing shortly after.
However, that often isn’t the case. They fight sleep as all children do, and their naps aren’t consistent. I would love to get them back on a regular schedule as well.
Shoot, our whole house could use a regular schedule if you ask me. It’s all over the place. Probably a good reason why the kids are that way also.
Anyway, no matter the reason that my schedule is changing, I’m trying to learn to go with the flow and steal in writing time when I can.
Until next time, remember to L.O.L. (Live it, Own it, Love it) or it isn’t worth doing.
