Germs Everywhere

Hello, Readers!

Man, I swear I just blinked and days have gone by. Really they have passed in a whirl of stolen in naps, sick babies, and extra cuddles. Their mama and I have been running on very little sleep as their schedules have been completely messed up.

Monday, the youngest was really struggling to breathe something fierce, so we ran him up to the instacare. Turns out Mama really had a right to worry about the way he was breathing. He was diagnosed with borderline RSV that nearly landed him in the hospital, along with an ear infection. He’s required extra attention for medications and mommy cuddles so I’ve been trying to spend more time with the older one so he doesn’t feel as left out.

We have been leap frogging sleep as she takes late nights with them and I grab early mornings when need be. That way we are at least getting a few hours. It has meant that writing has slowed down quite a bit, but not stopped completely. Even my painting time has taken a hit, but those babies are sure worth it.

Yesterday while her and I were shoving toothpicks into our eyelids to keep them open, I started to read. Which became a problem real quick as I started to dose off. Instead, I asked the mama if she’d mind if I read out loud to her. She didn’t so I spent five hours reading a book for us, that kept us both awake. It was actually really fun and I hope we do it again. I’ll even take the sore throat and scratchy voice afterward.

As this is the first night in a long time that both the boys have slept through the night, I am actually able to sit down and work in my office. There are so many story ideas going through my head that I’ve had to break them down into what is getting worked on first. Not to mention an array of short stories that are floating in my head, thanks to the writing prompts that my son has been sending me.

He gives me 3 a week and I’m supposed to write even quick stories to send to him from them. I have to admit there are more than a few that have intrigued me to write a bit longer short stories for them. Still, it has been a lot of fun and breaks up the regular work so that it isn’t too overwhelming.

Anyway, time to get back to work. Remember to L.O.L. (Live it, Own it, Love it) or it isn’t worth it.
